OCR of CMC7 with JustICR Brief overview CMC7 characters are used widely in checks and several forms in the industry in Europe, South America and Asia. These characters are designed to support magnetic reading by special machines because the data accuracy is very sensitive and magnetic reading is almost error free. In some projects, there is a need to read CMC7 characters from image. The problem appears to be very difficult in "real life" cases when the background of the image contains patterns that make the extraction and recognition of CMC7 a difficult task. 
Charactell's solution JustICR has a CMC7 option that can OCR CMC7 characters from real life checks and documents. This option requires images scanned in 200 dpi in gray (not black and white). JustICR has special algorithms that can extract the CMC7 information from the image and read it with outstanding accuracy.
